Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā (Sjèvè /ˈlʊʃəˑ/ [beast] [roster]) is a subtropical Large Town located in Deepbrook Dutchy, Tarnàg Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā is derived from the Tauric language, as Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā was founded by Crypcata Víhgā, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā has a yearly average temperature of 26°C (78°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 30°C (86°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 23°C (73°F). Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā receives an average of 281 cm/y (110 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā covers an area of nearly 7 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3856 m (12650 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā was founded durring the late 13th century in spring of the year 1169, by Crypcata Víhgā. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Crypcata Víhgā.

Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber and earth construction, with most buildigns first floors resembling mounds of earth, with subsequent floors appearing as elaborate log cabins, with each building forming a tiered pyramid of sorts fromed from the stack of rectangular, peek roofed cabins. Most wooden bracing, support, and trim is carved with decorative knotwork, and the larger structures even feature painted trim which emphasises the knotwork.

Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā is buildings are arranged arround a network of narrow cobblestone streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is protected by a renforced stone fence which sits atop earthwork defences, for some of the best inexpencive defences a town of Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā's size could have. Unfortuantly, these well-designed, yet cheep are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

A quick look in any direction shows Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā is filled with vices. There are many taverns, brothels are advertising their services on the streets, cardsharks are plying their illicit trade within public squairs, and every shop has at least three signs advertising various sales on goods. That alone wouldn’t be too noticeable, if it wasn’t just so omnipresent and overwhelmingly how the people of this town live.

Civic Infrastructure

Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā's parks.

Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā.

Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā's natural decorations nor waterways.

Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its functional shapes, abstract shapes used sparingly for decor, simple color schemes, holistic design, and basic industrial materials. Its simple designs were created to be beautiful, functional, and mass-producible. The style used little to no embellishment or ornamentation, instead drawing attention to the streamlined design, such as flat roofs to create a simple, geometric look. The simplicity masks the style's nearly sinister functionality, as every last feature is designed to guide the people living in the building in how to make the most efficient use of the structure.

Due to the actions of local Kami, summer is recurring in Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā.

The Giant hissing cockroach near Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Odíhg Sjèvèlùshā's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves line dance to channel Elven High Magic energies of tier 2 via guttural bellowing.
